What style windows does your dorm room have? Mine had the kind that would open up(Slide up for clarification). I smoked ~every day in the room with a bong(I think a blunt or spliff would reek a too strong but not sure) and just had a window fan to circulate the air. If not, get a vaporizer. I highly recommend the Herbal Aire, I was able to smoke in my room as much as I wanted and I had a day where the RA was at my door for my housing contract, she walked in, did not even smell a thing. P.S. if you get really blazed and smell up the room, just make some really buttery popcorn.

    lol @ "kook shit"

Its not kook shit if there is a real possibility that your whereabouts can be tracked & then later looked up by investigators.

Say I had a grow op somewhere & the cops wanted to find out where it was by looking up my cellphone pings on the nearest cell towers. Or an ex-cop private investigator wanted to find out where my girlfriend and I were during a pre-divorce investigation. Stuff like that. Yeah I could leave my cellphone home, but not if those places are on my way to or from work etc etc.... I still want to have it available for emergencies.

Not everyone actually has options, or choices for that matter. Those that are lucky enough to have the financial support to go to college end up coming out the other side with a huge amount of debt and no jobs. The market is dried up. I don't know if you have looked for a new job recently, but good luck if you do.

Even with a college degree (like myself), have a hard time even making over 30k/yr, my engineer friends are still unemployed or making under 40k/yr. I'm not sure where you get your numbers from.

**The skilled workforce is increasing while the number of jobs are decreasing therefore causing wages to go down steadily over the past 50 years. This trend is only going to continue in the future (especially when less jobs need to be done by people and more are done with technology)**

There's no reason it shouldn't work, provided you have an extremely consistent and extremely low ping to their server, coupled with very high bandwidth.

It's possible, but I can't see how this will be achievable for most people, considering the state of broadband in the U.S. Delivering 60fps HD video with no buffering and practically instant response time is no small task, especially when said video is of a game that you are constantly interacting with.

Something like this would be more suited to somewhere like Japan or South Korea.

    >Maybe If Israel could accept a two state solution with the pre 1967 borders

Exactly. The entire Arab League decided that they would accept Israel as a legitimate state if they would retreat to the pre-1967 borders. However Israel and the US decided that ignoring this deal and continued resettlement across Palestinian land would be a better option.

Put simply, there isn't peace in that region because Israel and the US don't want peace (at least not on the terms that a majority of the international community present).

My life. Would swear on my fathers grave I saw northern lights as a kid. When cross-referencing this to my mom when I got older, she points out I was looking in more of an eastern direction. Also pretty sure my zombie-ish dad woke me up in the middle of the night to pick my mom up at some weird electric substation (alien obductions any one?), nobody remembers that but me, DREAMs they say. And I HATE those dreams where you have been really intimate with your best friend or your BF ripped you a new one, then you wake up and feel like, NO, its NOT all the same?! . . . And whats up with those memories you have no idea where have come from? Dream? Life? Where?

(Like I know it sucks to sleep in a tent in a firtree forest cuz the grass gets all lumpy under the bedding... why?!)

Facepalm. I read your comment, wrinkled my eyebrows in non-understanding, wondered why my comment made you think I was this Heidi person, and then went to Wikipedia to see who she was. I searched her Wikipedia page for any evidence of why you thought, after reading my comment, that I might be her. I found none. Does she lucid dream or suggest to people that they lucid dream? Nope. Then I saw a picture...hey she's hot...if I turned into her during a lucid dream, I know how I'd spend the rest of the dream...or maybe just look her up...oooooh, that's what he meant.

To continue the analogy, viewing porn doesn't reduce a teenager's drive to have sex. The thing about teenage sex is that it's between two consenting people (otherwise it's rape) of the same maturity. When you have the a naked, sexual material of a minor without his or her consent, you are exploiting them, which is why we have a law to protect them. This holds even if it does suppress tendency for someone to commit rape.

We as a society are not at the mercy of pedophiles. The laws do not permit having children exploited for the possibility of preventing rape. Both are wrong and have victims.

EDIT: Could the downmodders please continue the discussion instead of simply downvoting?

    Wearhouse I knew.

Froot Loops? Double Yew Tee Eff.

    >In 1959, following the failure of Kellogg's OK's, Kellogg's re-purposed the equipment to create the Fruit Loops, Apple Jacks, and Puffa Puffa Rice cereals. A lawsuit was filed less than six months into the distribution of Fruit Loops by Renee Paxton in Paxton v. Kellogg's[citation needed]. In the case, Paxton claimed that the branding was misleading, as the product didn't actually contain any fruit. The case was settled out of court, with Kellogg's agreeing to rebrand what was already a popular cereal as "Froot Loops".

That's exactly why the war on drugs is such a terrible waste. It can take millions and millions of dollars and man hours to track these traffickers down to the very source and then millions of more dollars and man hours to arrest, prosecute and shut these guys down. Meanwhile, 10 entirely different drug trafficking operation spring up and begin operating in the vacuum that the other organization left.

Basically, there is always always going to be a huge demand for illegal drugs, and as long as they are so ridiculously prosecuted, the profits for trafficking are going to ensure that we will never be rid of these thugs.

haha no way what a total disaster, i mean thats the kind of stuff that stays with you through out college. I like that the end of play determines when the game ends as opposed to soccer where the referee decides when its over. I tried to play john maddens once on the megadrive but was like WTF when I looked at the rules and plays. I think i just put it on hail mary everytime and hoped for the best. I used to think it was a cop out putting all the padding on then i actually seen the size of those guys playing and realised that it wasn't so much to protect them it was to protect the runners!

Programming in any language is better than programming in no language at all.

Visual Basic is a language that gives you quick results in a particular domain. If you want to do what it is good at, i.e. build relatively simple Windows GUI apps, and you think that would make you happy enough to continue programming, pick Visual Basic. Visual Basic does give you a relatively simple introduction to the .NET world and if you are mostly interested in that world, it might not be a bad place to start.

In no way will you know C after knowing Visual Basic. Of course knowing any programming language will make it easier to learn C afterwards, but C is quite a different beast. You will be better prepared for C# however, so perhaps he meant that. This is a Java-like language mostly used with .NET. If you know C# it isn't hard to learn Java either.

It is confusing that there are three languages that are quite different called C, C++ and C#. C# is only similar to the other two on the surface. C and C++ are related in that C++ is an extension of C, but you work with it in a very different way. I don't recommend C or C++ for beginners.

Python is an excellent beginners language and the consensus is also it is better designed than Visual Basic. It will be a bit harder to get started doing simple Windows GUI apps, but it will be easier to get started with all sorts of other stuff, such as web development or game development, as Python has an enormous breadth of libraries available for it, but isn't integrated with any particular environment such as Visual Basic is. On the other hand, there will be a lot more GUI toolkits you can choose from (Qt, GTK, wxWindows, tkinter, etc); with Visual Basic you deal with one.

If you want to focus on .NET and thus the Microsoft world, you could check out IronPython, which is a version of Python being worked on by Microsoft that runs with .NET.

It is surprising that he is so totally ignorant of Python's very existence, and these days this language is so well known he has no excuse. This is a bit of a warning sign: why is he so uninterested in learning about alternatives? I don't use C# and .NET myself, but I know a little bit about the platform nonetheless. While Python doesn't have Microsoft's marketing machine behind it, it's a very well known language these days.
